Cricketing Blues!

Now that India has won the Twenty20 not to mention World Cup, everybody is damn sure these boys can 'get em and beat em' (anybody) under the sun. Even if you are an Australian they will beat them black and blue. These past days we have been celebrating the victory and even as I walk down the road I hear people talking about how proud they have made us, they have changed the whole perception of what cricket was thought and etc...

Even with the India-Australia series coming up, we are quite confident that our boys in blue will emerge as winners. Yeah right! Now with Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly we will surely clinch the title. I say why even bring them back? Why not let them retire peacefully let them get about with their own stuff? We have fresh energy, that you can literally feel adrenaline pumping through your own veins. Sourav is okay but why the other two? C'mon don't give me the stupid reason that well they are more experienced players and all that...we don't need their experience what we need is willing to take the chance, plunge into it and enjoy the game of cricket fully. Not a couple of hillie billies who stand there wasting balls and not having the balls to actually take the challenge. At least the new team proved it at Twenty20 that even if wickets start falling we actually don't cling onto one person and not play...We fight and fight with all our might! That's the change that was seriously refreshing.
But the next thing I dread to think is...what if we...what if we lose!? Will we be singing the same praises as we are doing today...coz that day we will be burning posters, effigies and God knows what else..perhaps threaten the cricketer's family or stand outside their house and humiliate them! Its okay if they lose, coz if they put up a tough fight like they put when they were playing the recent games then thats fine. At least in our heart of hearts we will know they tried, they fought but they could'nt conquer.

For now, all I can say is All the Best to our Indian Team...hope they conquer the Kangaroos and yea God give some strength to Tendulkar and Dravid. Naahhh..Sourav does not need it! Remember he's the Bengal Tiger....

Black and White is the new BLACK!

Before you read ahead...let me tell you, this is no fashion blog! Nor am I so smitten by black and white outfits...I was but during my teenage years...Not too much. Anything that makes me look good..is well good enough.

Yesterday I had donned white kurta with black capris and white sandals..(something which could make my oh-so-close friends eyes pop out!) so anywayz I tried this stuff and it did make me feel good. Remember those good old fashion days when it was so stylish and fashionable to wear a black and white outfit? Black was the black, and now its like Pink is the new Black, Gold is the new black, etc, etc. coz I do feel that this couple - well you can mix lot of colours but these two colours look good together anytime! They are like those inseparable couples, no divorces, no arguments, always staying together...but also in contrast to each other.

Coming to the meaning of colours, I guess everyone sticks the age-old phenomenon whites are angel like, innocent, so pure! Black is the devilish, strong and in command! Guess there are no other colours that when you mix them could give you such a distinct combination! Be that White and blue, pink and black, or whatever colour that you would like to mix. Which proves to say they are just the perfect couple!

Now you know when I say black and white is here to stay. Its somewhat irreplacable. And I do mean it! Try combining the best of white and black and you will know what I mean!

The 'MA' Factor!

Well to start off, I would say, please make Himesh Reshamiya the brand ambassador of some Parent club, rather that should be the 'Ma' Club. I got a better idea, why not make him the inspector who goes on his usual rounds asking children (young or old) how well they treat their 'ma'. If not then no...there can be no punishment, no fine, etc...he just has to open his mouth and next thing you will see is people begging him to stop talking what ever advice he would like to give them.

Third idea sort of just clicked me! Why not make him an ambassador of 'Old Age Homes'. He will find even more people who he can scare them off with his endless bickering of how you should take care always thank your parents...well fine but your Ma as well...and she is the only one etc..etc...who took care of you and all.. that! Very well Mr Reshamiya but we already know about it!

The recent episode just made me angry enough to go and whack on his face and ask him, "Where are your good manners?" and honestly speaking I don't want to ask his mother or father. But his consistent chatter about the contestant Poonam's bad childhood, mom not being well, etc, etc...must have made the girl dash towards the green room. Coz she wasn't seen at the end of the show. And it was very clearly seen that she was at the verge of crying. And for God's sake Himesss bhai you were asked how her singing was not how her family coped with difficulty! And enough is enough, let her concentrate on her singing and not make her feel guilty that she is been chosen because of her poor background and all that....

And yea one more thing, please stop distinguishing between Raja singing badly or Musarat being out for no reason...everybody has their good and bad days...you too may have faced the same. (Remember the 'nasal' days???) stop nit-picking on people. Its horrendous!!

Love lost or lack of Men!!!

Wisemen say, (no not only fools rush in...:) ) but they say that 'Wait and Watch!' Be it anything, work, money, or men! Wait for the right one to come....and so from that day you start counting, the day you encounter the first one....hmmm...aaaahhh...naahhh...he is'nt the one you have been dreaming about...

Then comes along the second one....aahhh...."Is he?", "At least he is better than the last guy...", so.....then suddenly the world crashes...and its bye bye....

After a good time being single...there comes a third guy, now mind you after seeing the destiny of the past two guys maybe you become cautious, be selective, etc....you think and talk, watch his every move, etc...and when things are going hunky dory...Baaam!!! And things have fallen apart before you even knew.

Till now you have decided that its best to be single. The world is much better place without them. Join the singles club, bitch about men (yea how can you not forget women too!) And by this time not to forget, even your friends have started getting engaged, married....and you still think..."Naaah, am the happiest person being single."

And its time also that you see men coming along your way...but naahhh...its okay. And by now your friends have started having babies, kids and suddenly they don't seem to match up with your mental pace and well....and here comes the standard line...'Wait and Watch' yeah right have watched my hair go from the walnut/reddish streaks that I have done to whitish streaks....(no don't blame the hair colours please!) and still no sign of man, forget the right kinds....

And to all the women who share the same woes like me...well all I can say is 'Waaait and Watch'!

Ranvir, Vinay aur Mica - who ticks!

When Ranvir, Vinay aur Kaun started I thought the teasers showed a lot of promise, but unfortunately it didnt turn that way. And I guess it all depends on who the guest is. The Gul Panag show was fine. The first guest, Karan Johar with whom they kickstarted the show was very 'thanda'. Guess he can interview guests better than himself being the interviewee....

But yesterday's show, I wouldnt say rocked but at least made you sit up and watch, instead of waiting for some one-liners to come across your way and then you jump off your chair to laugh. Well, though the moment wasnt exactly the same, Mica sort of sarcastically tried to say loads of things that he wanted to...For eg, you should have seen how he said he was a 'nasal' singer first and then Himeesssh bhai followed. And how he can sing like him (which he demonstrated) and I loved the comment where he said "Jiske paas kuch kaam nahi hota woh judge ke khursi mein jaake beth jaate hai, mujhe bhi mere ghar mein roti chahiye!" The same line that Himesh said to his contestant and I repeat - "Mujhe tere ghar mein roti chahiye, struggle nahin!"

And if anybody still wanted to know about his kiss with Rakhi miss....then he made good fun of it and moved on...hmmm...however he somewhat sounded like Rakhi Sawant...you know the 'Bindaas' type! But since Mica has given us good hits like 'Ganpat', 'Something, something'. Hope he keeps singing and does all his bindaas stuff for our entertainment!

Remakes or just 'Plain Bakwaas!'

RGV's Aag just released this friday on 31st July. And guess what each and every station spoke about how you should completely avoid going to watch this movie. The reason: though the storyline is similar to Sholay it definitely did not hit home. Forget hitting home, I think it didnt even enter the home! You should read some of the reviews...and no matter apna Ram Gopal Verma said that its not a remake then what in the God's name was this...it wasnt even a spoof.

I think the MTV guys did a good job of spoofing it with Thakur and Jai and Veeru...maybe Verma should take some ideas from the MTV people. To make matters worse, the guys who come out with pirated cds have also refused to make more than 50,000 pirated copies of the same.

In the world of remakes I think it is high time that film makers, directors or whoever it is in the damn film industry this is a request to you as a viewer we love the old story, the characters, everything. Please do not make an attempt to make it again by revamping not only the sets but also the whole character (just look at Amitabh and you know what I mean - I wonder what he must be feeling now)

We saw that for DON, now its RGV ki Aag, which got doused even before it started...and now we still have to wait for Karz...starring none other than apna Himesssh bhai...Gosh....I guess one way or the other this just gives movie writers all the more chance to say a lot more and not wind up their review by saying, "All in all good effort, A actor could have done better, B was excellent, blah blah..." and for them to write a review of Aag, they must be very happy to thrash out each and everyone in this movie.

Heaven help us when Karz or other remake arrives...may the Lord give us enough strength to go through the same :)
